The teachers below have all reached out to step up and bring yoga to Manipura Power Yoga, very grateful for their commitment to the practice.

Aaron Warren

Aaron Warren is the creator of Manipura Power Yoga, with many years of corporate experience Aaronbrings energy and lightness to teaching yoga.  Aaron has studied under Baron Baptiste, Amy Zezulka, Elizabeth Johnstone, Debra Williamson, Philip Urso and Stacey Dockins, there are many others some are not even yogis!   Teaching Power Vinyasa is a passion Aaron carries, knowing what it has done to change his thinking, building core strength, and the ability to live in the present moment.  Aaron's beliefs are faith based, having come to terms with Jesus, Buddha, and the internal guide called spirit of consciousness.   Recently Aaron read the Autobiography of a Yogi which became one of his favorites as it is a great aid in learning to trust the Universe, stay out of the past, stay out of the future and live in this moment.





Ann Monaghan


Ann has been practicing yoga for over 30 years.  She began with Iyengar style. Wanting to share her love for yoga with others she became a yoga instructor; she earned certification in the Barkan  Method hot yoga, level 1 in 2004, level 11 vinyasa flow and level 111 power vinyasa in 2006.  Ann also practiced under Bikram Choudhury, Baron Baptiste, Seane Corn, and Shiva Rea. 

She has taught yoga classes in many Connecticut studios and in Galway, Ireland. Ann enjoys many forms of fitness, including hiking, gym workouts, paddle boarding, biking, kayaking, with yoga being her true inspiration.


Beth Hornbeck

After teaching group fitness for 15 years, Beth decided it was time for something different.  A friend recommended Brian Kest Power Yoga.  That is where her passion began.  After a few years of home practice, Beth started practicing Bikram yoga and fell in love with the heat and the energy that comes from practicing with others.

After finding a power yoga studio that had all the elements she was looking for, her passion for power yoga was ignited once more.  She found the perfect combination of building strength and muscle, increasing flexibility and quieting the mind, all in a heated room.  She knew immediately that she wanted to start teaching again and share with others what she learned on her mat.

Beth received her 200 hour teaching training certification at Buddhi Mat Power Yoga Studio.  Through her training, she learned how to start living her yoga and will share that through her teaching.  Guiding her students to discover who they really are.  Taking what they learn about themselves during their practice and bringing it into their everyday lives.  Practicing yoga from the inside out.


Suze Brand

Susan's career has been primarily in the corporate Design World. A Graduate from Parsons School of Design. She began her practice in Ivengar Yoga with highly regarded yoga teacher Lindsey Clennell. She continued to practice Bikram yoga for 15 years. Susan's 200hr training was with world renown Rolf Gates. Her training is in Vinyasa yoga which includes: spiritual development, alignment and sequencing. Susan's class is balanced for beginners to strong practitioners. Beginners will be engaged and strong practitioners will be challenged.  All students will be inspired to cultivate wellness and happiness through breathing and flow. Vinyasa will energize you as well as calm you.By taking care of yourself, you will feel younger and you will start to notice new strengths on your mat and off your mat.  Susan is also a recreational tennis teacher at Hardscrabble Tennis Club.  Yoga will help you be a better athlete and a better person in helping your life work.


Lisa Sperry

Lisa has been practicing Baptiste Power Yoga since 2007 and has been a Baptiste Inspired teacher since 2009.  Lisa completed Baptiste Level One, Two and Three teacher trainings, earning her RYT 200 hours through Yoga Alliance. She is planning on completing materials for Baptiste Teacher Certification.  After a very dear friend introduced Lisa to this style of yoga she was instantly hooked.  Lisa finds this practice challenging, empowering and inspirational.  “For me, Baptiste yoga is all about finding the power of transformation through acceptance and awareness.”


Jess Rockwell

Jess Rockwell has been practicing yoga since 2011.  When she found Manipura Power Yoga and the Baptiste methodology she fell in love.  Connecting with the body, breath and mind truly changed her life.    She has found a deep compassion for herself and a strength that continues to grow and spill out in all areas of her life, not just on the mat.  She now wants to share her love of yoga with all and has been trained by Manipura Power Yoga's very own Aaron Warren. Jess aims to create a safe and fun space where she can help students connect with their bodies and thoughts, releasing what may not serve them and uncovering their inherent strength.





Lori McGovern

Lori is a certified yoga teacher and a graduate of Lotus Garden Teacher Training program.  She is also a certified prenatal yoga teacher and a Level one Baptiste Power Yoga graduate.  Lori holds an MS Ed and is a certified early childhood/Special Ed and Elementary Ed teacher.  She recently earned a Master of Arts in Integrated Health and Healing.  Lori believes you should live your life and your yoga with joyful enthusiasm.  Flowing with grace and finding the balance between body, mind and spirit is what it’s all about.
